Havahart Wireless Fence Vs PetSafe

So, you want to let your dog run around the yard freely, but you don’t have a fence to prevent them from going outside. You can’t really build a real fence, either because it is too costly or because of the strict neighborhood regulations. If this is the case, then what you need is a wireless fence. With a wireless fence, you can train your dog not to pass a specified boundary around the yard. This way, you can let your dog free at home without worrying that he may go to the road. Now, there are two very popular wireless fence products on the market, Havahart Wireless Fence and PetSafe. Which one should you choose? Find the answer below!

Area Coverage and Performance
Perhaps one of the most important factors that we need to consider in choosing a wireless fence for our pet is the area coverage. We know that a wireless system usually has limited area coverage, and we certainly don’t want to trap our pet in such a narrow area without any open place to run and play. With this perspective in mind, we may be delighted that Havahart Wireless Fence offers astonishing maximum area coverage of 11 acres. That is very large. With such coverage, you can make sure that your dog will be able to run around the home, the pond, the backyard, and the lawn. In addition, Havahart Wireless Fence is also well-known for its superb signal reliability. Even if your dog goes far, the receiver can still receive signals from the transmitter to prevent him from going too far away. The large area coverage is also ideal for camping and hunting trips. On the other hand, PetSafe’s maximum area coverage is only ½ acres. The area coverage is actually pretty wide, sufficient to let your dog run a little bit, but obviously nothing as powerful or versatile as Havahart Wireless Fence.

Both models have five levels of shock correction, which is used to stop your dog from going outside the set boundary. Both also have the beep-only setting, which will only send alert tones if your dog is approaching the border. One great feature of PetSafe is that it can work with an unlimited number of dogs, at the contrast of Havahart Wireless Fence which can only control up to two dogs. PetSafe’s transmitter is considerably bulkier, but the receiver is waterproof, meaning that it can withstand extreme wetness and moisture. Havahart Wireless Fence is only water resistant and not waterproof, which means that the receiver may not be able to survive submersion for too long.

Each of the two models has its own advantages. If you only have one or two dogs and you don’t need to worry about the collars getting submerged, then Havahart Wireless Fence is great. The extensive area coverage makes the model very flexible and versatile for different purposes. However, if you have more dogs and you can only afford one wireless fence, then PetSafe should be your choice due to the unlimited number of collars supportable.
