Aquatop CF500UV comes with a complete filtration solution, as it is designed to be able to handle all physical, chemical, and biological polluters with its unique features. It is also surprisingly very silent.

Aquatop CF500UV Review - Complete Filtration Solution

Aquatop CF500UV takes UV canister filters to the next level. This filtration system is ideal for both fresh and saltwater aquariums up to 175 gallons in capacity, with 525 GPH water flow rate. You can use it in a pair to handle an even bigger aquarium. The test conducted on a 300 gallons tank involving two Aquatop CF500UV filtration systems shows exceptional cleaning quality. With a relatively compact body that only measures 18-inch by 12-inch by 11-inch, it can be very versatile, both in usage and in placement.

The way Aquatop CF500UV works is quite something that you would expect from a UV canister filter. Unlike other canister filter systems, Aquatop CF500UV is armed with a convenient Prime Pump. So, it automatically pumps water into the device, without needing you to do manual siphoning. This is very handy. Aquarium water enters the device and is passed to the UV Sterilizing Bulb, where the UV rays will kill potentially harmful biological entities. Then, the water flows down through the cylindrical cutouts to the bottom. After that, the water is pushed up through the filtration media compartments. There are three layers of media compartments that have to be passed before the water returns back into the aquarium.

Its cleaning performance is great. It has the needed flow rate to provide a decent water flow in an aquarium, though this also depends on the types of aquatic pets that you have. For weaker fishes, you will need to adjust the speed a little, which can be done by simple tweaks, like adding more media. Aquatop CF500UV features four fine white filter pads and one coarse blue filter sponge for the best mechanical filtration. The 9-Watt UV sterilizer seems to do well, as there is no algae growth happening in the tank. Even so, you are given the choice to turn the UV on or off. It is very easy to be assembled and maintained, the hoses can be shut-off and removed without spilling water. However, you should keep in mind that the hoses need to be as straight as possible. All in all, Aquatop CF500UV have great qualities and excellent convenience, making it a great value for the money.
